Puppet Designer: Jimmy Grimes

For this production I helped construct and assemble the inner mechanisms of the puppet as well as plastazote sculpt the scales, horns, and ears. I worked on painting the dragon in its iconic pink colours which was built up over several layers.

Due to the nature of the touring show, the puppet needed to be lightweight and taken apart easily so the majority of the project was spent assisting Jimmy in creating puppet mechanisms that would survive heavy handling and could be easily repaired in the instance of a break.
