Puppet Design: Jimmy Grimes

This carnival style large scale puppet was created for Regents Park Open Air Theatre to represent a French Coloniser looming over the cast during a musical sequence. With a plastazote base and internal metal/plywood structure, the head was then built up with layers of brown paper and then painted to add depth. Using Jimmys design, I was responsible for the fabrication of the hands of the puppet which operated separately to the rest of the body.
During this process I was also responsible for the sourcing of the materials used for the making of the puppet.
